From time to time we put out pre-arrival offers.  These are generally world class wines which we have to order beforehand.  Most of these wines are very hard to get.  By ordering them before they are released to the general public you get the chance to secure wines which are released in very limited quantities. Check this page often because most of these offers have a very limited window of availability.

This from Robert Parker: First, and most importantly, for some Médocs and Graves, 2009 may turn out to be the finest vintage I have tasted in 32 years of covering Bordeaux. From top to bottom, 2009 is not as consistent as 2005, but the peaks of quality in 2009 may turn out to be historic.

In broad, rather simplistic terms, 2009 is at its greatest in the Médoc and Graves, where it can often eclipse 2005 and 2000.

The Bordeaux hype-machine has been engaged full-force.  Most expect these wines to be released at historically high prices.  As I said regarding the 2005’s though, this is a vintage in which you can expect the less-expensive properties to release magnificent wines.  Do not neglect them, as they should provide superb drinking for the near future.

I am releasing prices on the 2009 futures.  As is the usual, all orders must be confirmed in writing.  All orders must be paid for upon confirmation.  The wines will arrive sometime in 2012.  As in 2008, all prices will be updated daily on our web-site.  Expect many properties to release pricing in the next two weeks.

Should we buy 2009 futures?  It meets my own criterion for the following reasons.  1. The wines will be hard to obtain upon release, indeed, several have already sold out from their first-tranche offerings.  2. This does appear to be a classic vintage. 

We do not sell single bottles as futures.  A half-case minimum is required.  In certain cases we will only sell full cases.  In these cases the half-case price is marked N/A
